Casa de Esperanza

Making a difference, one child at a time

Thank you for stopping by the Casa de Esperanza store. This store was created to raise money to support the children of Casa de Esperanza. One hundred percent of the profits go directly to the support the children and to make their lives better.

The "starfish story" tells us about a little boy that went to the beach one morning and found a storm had stirred up thousands of starfish. He immediately began to throw them back - one at a time. An old man walked by and asked him what he was doing. The boy explained and the old man told him he could not make a difference. The boy looked at the starfish in his hand and told the man "it makes a difference to this one."

That is what we try to do, is make a difference, one child at a time. For every purchase you make from the Casa Shop, you, too, will help to make a difference one child at a time.

All of our products are made in Honduras. Below you will find some of the products offered in our store.

LENCA

The Lenca pottery is popular among visitors to Honduras. It is made by the Lenca Indians. We drew the designs for some of our Lenca and worked with the people to create some special pieces.

Jewelry

Our starfish necklaces have been one of our most popular items. A pewter starfish with Lenca beads. Bead color: black and beige, black and red, black and green. Each necklace is slightly different. Please specify preferred color. $20.00

All of our pewter is made in Tegucigalpa. Many pieces have been designed for Casa de Esperanza.

CANDLES

Our candles are made by the women in the abused women's shelter in Tegucigalpa. This shelter is another ministry that is trying to provide hope to the hopless and make a difference, one person at a time.

Most of the candles Casa de Esperanza offers are stock candles. The ones you see at the left were,

however, designed by Karen and Terri and the women at the shelter.

Mail service out of Honduras is not reliable. As people come and go, we will be sending products to be mailed. If you are in a hurry, please specify and we will try to get your product to you.
